Chris Schauble Age: How Old Is Chris Schauble?
People asking how old is chris schauble will find several conflicting dates on biography websites. That creates an important accuracy issue. A 2014 report about his search for his biological family described Schauble as 44 at that time, strongly supporting a birth year around 1970. KTLA also publicly celebrated his birthday in early March, including a birthday segment aired on March 8, 2024.
Reports published around his 2025 birthday indicated that his actual birthday fell on March 8 that year. Based on the widely reported 1970 birth year, he would be 56 after his birthday in 2026. However, because reliable official biographies don’t prominently publish a complete birth date, it is better to explain the evidence than pretend every online date is equally trustworthy.
Chris Schauble Education and Early Broadcasting Career
Schauble graduated from Fort Lewis College in Durango, Colorado, with a degree in broadcast journalism. Fort Lewis College identifies him as a member of its Journalism class of 1991. The college later honored his professional success with a Distinguished Alumni Award in 2002.
Before becoming familiar to Los Angeles audiences, he worked in several television markets. His earlier career included a position at KCNC-TV in Denver, where he covered major national stories. His reporting around the Columbine High School shooting contributed to coverage that earned the station a regional Emmy. In 2000, the Colorado Association of Black Journalists named him Television Journalist of the Year.
Chris Schauble Career at KTLA
Los Angeles became the most recognizable chapter of Chris Schauble‘s television career. He moved to the Los Angeles market in 2001 and eventually became a central part of KTLA’s morning programming. His professional biography credits him with multiple Emmy Awards and Golden Mic Awards earned during his years in Southern California broadcasting.
His work isn’t limited to reading prepared headlines. Morning television requires anchors to react quickly to developing stories, interviews, weather events, breaking news, and unexpected moments. Schauble experienced one memorable example in 2014 when his surprised reaction to a Los Angeles earthquake spread widely online. While the clip showed his humorous human side, his broader career has been built on years of serious newsroom work.
Chris Schauble Wife and Married Life
Search interest around chris schauble wife usually leads to one name: Katrina Schauble, formerly Katrina Jackson. In a detailed interview, Chris explained that the couple met while he was working in Mobile, Alabama. Katrina was an educator and invited the television journalist to speak to her students. A simple classroom invitation eventually became the beginning of their relationship.
The couple married on July 30, 1994, according to Schauble’s own account. Their marriage therefore spans more than three decades by 2026. Although Chris works in a highly public profession, the couple hasn’t built their relationship around constant publicity. Most available information instead focuses on their family, education, and life together as parents.
Chris Schauble Family and Daughters
Family is an important part of Schauble’s public story. Chris and Katrina are parents to four daughters—two sets of twins. His professional biography specifically describes him as a married father of two sets of twin girls, something he has also discussed in interviews.
One daughter, Shelbi Schauble, has entered broadcasting herself. In March 2025, KTLA arranged an emotional birthday surprise in which Chris unexpectedly tossed to Shelbi at sister station KSN in Missouri. Shelbi was working as a weathercaster while continuing her meteorology education. For Chris, the moment carried special meaning because he had hoped for the chance to share an on-air television moment with his daughter.
Chris Schauble’s Adoption and Search for His Biological Family
One of the most personal chapters of Schauble’s life began long before his television career. He was adopted in Florida in 1970 by John and Caroline Schauble before growing up largely in Colorado. He has spoken positively about the parents who raised him, yet questions about his biological history remained as he grew older.
At age 44, he searched for his biological relatives. After a months-long process involving records, research, and family connections, he met his biological mother, Virginia Robinson, in 2014 and connected with relatives from the family of his late biological father, John Charles “J.C.” Robinson. Schauble said the experience helped answer questions about identity and family history while never replacing his love for the adoptive family who raised him.
Chris Schauble Salary: What Does He Earn?
The exact chris schauble salary is not publicly confirmed by KTLA or another reliable source that provides his employment contract. Several celebrity biography websites publish dollar amounts, yet those figures vary significantly. That difference is a warning sign. An estimate repeated across websites doesn’t suddenly become a verified salary.
Experienced anchors in a large television market such as Los Angeles can earn substantial compensation, but industry averages cannot reveal one person’s private contract. Seniority, responsibilities, negotiations, ratings, and contract terms can all affect pay. Therefore, the responsible answer in 2026 is simple: Schauble has a long and successful broadcasting career, but his exact annual KTLA salary remains private.
Chris Schauble Net Worth in 2026
The same caution applies to chris schauble net worth. Online biography websites offer very different estimates, sometimes ranging across several million dollars. None of those numbers appears to come from Schauble’s financial statements, tax records, investment records, or an official disclosure. For that reason, presenting one specific figure as confirmed wealth would be misleading.
It’s reasonable to say his long career has provided professional financial success. However, net worth isn’t the same as salary. It depends on property, savings, investments, debts, taxes, business interests, and other private financial details. Without reliable access to that information, his exact 2026 net worth cannot be responsibly confirmed.
Chris Schauble Wikipedia and Online Biography Searches
The search term chris schauble wikipedia is popular because readers often expect Wikipedia to provide a quick biography. However, a 2026 Wikidata record for Chris Schauble showed no dedicated Wikipedia sitelink attached to that entry. Readers may instead encounter information about him through KTLA-related pages, professional profiles, interviews, and independent biography sites.
This also explains why conflicting details spread so easily. One website may list one birthday, height, salary, or net worth while another gives something completely different. For reliable biographical information, direct interviews, his college, professional journalism organizations, and recent verified reporting records provide a stronger foundation than anonymous celebrity-profile pages.
Where Is Chris Schauble Now in 2026?
For anyone searching where is chris schauble now, recent evidence provides a clear answer. Schauble remains professionally connected to KTLA-TV in Los Angeles. His verified journalist profile identifies him as a KTLA morning television news anchor, and it includes reporting credited to him as recently as September 20, 2026.
His public work also extends beyond regular news broadcasts. A Los Angeles Urban League program for June 2026 identified Schauble as an event emcee and KTLA 5 news anchor. That combination of recent reporting and public appearances shows that he remains active in broadcasting and community events rather than having quietly left television.
Awards, Fitness, and Community Work
Schauble’s professional life includes more than the newsroom. NABJLA’s biography credits him with five Emmy Awards and six Golden Mics at the time that profile was published. A 2026 Los Angeles Urban League program described him as a six-time Emmy winner, suggesting his award total increased after the earlier biography was written.
Fitness has also played a major role in his life. He is a former marathon runner and triathlete who completed three Ironman competitions, including the Ironman World Championship in Kailua-Kona, Hawaii. He also spent years coaching youth track athletes. In 2018, United Friends of the Children honored him for work supporting foster youth approaching adulthood.
Final Thoughts
Chris Schauble’s story goes far beyond salary figures and online net worth estimates. His journey includes decades of television journalism, a long marriage, four daughters, athletic achievements, community involvement, and a deeply personal search for his biological family. Those details help explain why viewers remain interested in the person behind the KTLA news desk.
In 2026, Chris Schauble remains active at KTLA and continues his broadcasting career in Los Angeles. While his exact salary and net worth aren’t publicly verified, his professional record is well documented. For readers looking for dependable information, confirmed career and family facts offer a much clearer picture than unsupported financial guesses.
