Alexa Datt Biography
Alexa Datt was born on November 22, 1985, in Derwood, Maryland, United States. She developed an interest in sports and journalism at a young age. During high school, she became involved with her school newspaper and served as a sports editor.
Her passion for sports reporting eventually led her to the University of Maryland, where she studied broadcast journalism and also minored in Spanish. Her education helped her develop the reporting, production, interviewing and communication skills that would later become central to her broadcasting career.
Rather than entering sports television through a single traditional route, Datt gained experience through internships and production jobs. Her early professional experiences included work connected with Comcast SportsNet, where she gained exposure to Washington-area sports coverage. She also worked behind the scenes before increasingly moving toward on-camera roles.
Her career demonstrates how sports broadcasters can progress from production and reporting positions to national television and major professional sports organizations.
Alexa Datt Career
Datt’s professional journey has included several major stages.
After her early work in Washington, Datt moved to New York and joined SportsNet New York (SNY). She spent approximately seven years working in different production and on-air capacities. During this period, she eventually became an in-stadium host and reporter for the New York Mets.
Her experience at SNY was particularly important because it allowed her to combine production knowledge with live broadcasting. According to the Nationals’ 2026 profile of Datt, she worked as both a producer and on-air talent at SNY before becoming a Mets in-stadium host.
She later worked with MLB.com and developed her profile as a baseball host and digital sports personality. Her career continued to expand when she joined MLB Network and NHL Network.
At MLB Network, Datt hosted programs including Quick Pitch and The Rundown. She also worked on other sports programming and contributed to digital coverage. Her time at NHL Network gave her experience outside baseball and demonstrated her versatility as a sports broadcaster.
Alexa Datt at FanDuel Sports Network Midwest
A major chapter of Datt’s career began when she moved to St. Louis and joined what was then Bally Sports Midwest, later rebranded as FanDuel Sports Network Midwest.
There, she worked as a host and reporter covering the St. Louis Cardinals, St. Louis Blues and other regional sports.
This period gave Datt extensive experience covering teams throughout a full sports calendar. Her responsibilities included studio hosting, reporting, interviews and other broadcast duties.
One of the most notable achievements of her St. Louis career came in 2025, when she became the first woman to call Cardinals play-by-play during Spring Training. The milestone added another important achievement to her broadcasting résumé.
Her career in St. Louis also showed that she was capable of taking on more demanding live-game responsibilities rather than limiting herself to studio hosting.
Alexa Datt and the Washington Nationals in 2026
The biggest Alexa Datt career update for 2026 is her return to the Washington, D.C., region.
The Washington Nationals announced that Datt would join their inaugural Nationals.TV broadcast lineup as a host and reporter. The move is particularly meaningful because Datt is a Maryland native and grew up in the Washington-area sports environment.
In an interview published by MLB.com in February 2026, Datt described the opportunity to return home and cover her hometown team as a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity.
Her new position means that she is once again working in the region where her sports-media journey began.
For fans searching for Alexa Datt 2026, this is one of the most important updates to know: she is now part of the Washington Nationals’ broadcast operation and is covering the team through Nationals.TV.
Alexa Datt Salary
One of the most frequently searched questions about the broadcaster is: How much is Alexa Datt’s salary?
The simple answer is that her exact salary is not publicly confirmed.
There are websites online that publish estimated salary ranges for Datt, but these figures should not be presented as official. Some older online sources have suggested annual compensation ranging from tens of thousands of dollars to higher figures, while other sites publish broader estimates of her wealth or income.
However, these websites generally do not provide a verified contract, official payroll record or statement from the Washington Nationals confirming Datt’s compensation.
Because Datt is now working for the Nationals in 2026, her current compensation could also differ from what she earned during her time with MLB Network or FanDuel Sports Network Midwest.
A sports broadcaster’s salary can depend on several factors, including experience, market size, network, responsibilities, exclusivity, contract length, hosting duties and reporting assignments. Therefore, an exact number should not be claimed without reliable documentation.
What Can Be Said About Alexa Datt’s Earnings?
Although her exact salary is unknown, Datt’s long career suggests that she is an experienced professional rather than an entry-level broadcaster.
She has worked for major sports organizations, hosted national programs, covered professional teams and handled live sports reporting. Those accomplishments can contribute significantly to a broadcaster’s earning potential.
For this reason, searches for Alexa Datt salary 2026 should be approached with caution. Until the Nationals or Datt herself releases compensation information, any precise figure should be regarded as an estimate.

Her income over the years has likely come primarily from her sports-media career, including television hosting, reporting, digital content and related broadcasting opportunities.
Because she has worked in the industry for many years, her professional earnings may be substantial, but it would be misleading to claim a precise net worth without reliable financial evidence.
